Anxiety, Panic Attacks And Agoraphobia - Kate
I am a 47 year old woman who has suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for most of my life. Around the age of 26 I sought the help of a psychiatrist who put me on antidepressants. The drugs helped for the short term and I did improve. Although not completely cured of anxiety, I thought, "well this is as good as I will get", so I lived a half life, being content with only doing the things I was comfortable doing, and not venturing far from my comfort zone.
At 42 I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatique Syndrome, and have been virtually house bound for four and a half years. After much reading and soul searching, the thing that kept standing out to me was the 'mind-body connection'. What if, because of all this fear and anxiety I have been carrying around for so long, I have made myself physically sick.
A friend mentioned Hypnotherapy to me and I did give it some thought. The same week I came across a program on TV about the benefits of hypnotherapy... this was a sign. I "googled" hypnotherapy and a number of options came up, but as soon as I read what Brad had to say as to how he can help, I made an appointment.
After the first session I knew this could only be a positive step. Brad gave me the first sign of hope for my anxiety and my CFS.
Four sessions later and I feel a renewed sense of confidence and an unfamiliar sense of calm. I have been shopping with out fear, and even strolling through major shopping centres quite comfortably. This for me, is a major breakthrough.
Having hypnotherapy, listening to the cd's and using the tools Brad has given me, is helping me to want to live life again and to get well and enjoy life!
