Severe Anxiety, Now List of Victories - Lauren

  • 1.      Feel different in my head.
  • 2.      Don't have traumatic events playing over and over again in my head.
  • 3.      Getting up and going to bed no longer filled with anxiety and strange feelings.
  • 4.      Don't panic when I smell unfamiliar smells.
  • 5.      Destroyed all journals and computer letters that I had to do for counselling of traumatic events and negative feelings in relation to my mother, husband, daughter and step-son.
  • 6.      Put car away behind electric rollerdoors.
  • 7.      Drove to Marion yesterday by myself and meet my mentor for coffee there and drove home without her having to follow me.
  • 8.      Have caught bus to Colonnades with her following. Next Tuesday actually meeting her there.
  • 9.      Went swimming in our temporary chlorinated and other chemicals pool for the first time in 14 years.
  • 10.  Shut the shower door.
  • 11.  Can shower with no one in the house without anxiety.
  • 12.  Use different products on hair and skin.
  • 13.  Drove daughter to Flinders Medical Centre Emergency by myself at night. Drove home again at 2am in the morning.
  • 14.  Washed the car with proper car shampoo which has been sitting in my cupboard for 2 years.
  • 15.  Washed the dog with dog shampoo.
  • 16.  Have the whole house open on nicedays letting in fresh air.
  • 17.  Pulled out some weeds without gloves and mask.
  • 18.  Sprayed weeds with vinegar and lemon juice with 220 (Sulphur dioxide) in it. Didn't have a massive panic attack when it sprayed back on my legs and a little on my face.
  • 19.  Cleaned outside windows.
  • 20.  Bought deep fryer and homemade chips for the first time in 14 years. Used the oil again and didn't panic that it might have gone rancid.
  • 21.  Tasted Tofu cheese. Didn't like it.
  • 22.  Tasted avocado. Didn't like it.
  • 23.  Tasted organic strawberry jam. Okay.
  • 24.  Had a coffee a few weeks ago at Billy Baxter's instead of at the Coffee House.
  • 25.  Use nail varnish on my finger nails and toes.
  • 26.  Used nail varnish remover a few days ago.
  • 27.  Hair cut in the salon twice now -surrounded by major chemical smells.
  • 28.  Ate at my nephews and his wife's.
  • 29.  Slept at daughter's Christmas eve.
  • 30.  Have eaten at daughter's several times now.
  • 31.  Pictures with daughter
  • 32.  Pictures with daughter and my best friend.
  • 33.  Went to Marion to the pictures and shopping with daughter.
  • 34.  Drank my Mum and Dad's pura water.
  • 35.  Walks on the beach.
  • 36.  Walks around my area.
  • 37.  Called in alone, for coffee at my nephew's and his wife's
  • 38.  Use wash-out hair dye.
  • 39.  Tried new recipes.
  • 40.  Coped with gagging and chocking with hooping cough.
  • 41.  Coped with being in a car accident -12 hours FMC Emergency.
  • 42.  Had to take soluble panadol in tap water - hospital.
  • 43.  Had to have MRI - claustrophobic.
  • 44.  Dealt with driving to Goodwood, getting lost, re-tracing back to pick up daughter.Getting lost in the city, Smelling smoke, marijuana, the Escledford, lift, getting locked in the car park.
  • 45.  Entertainment Centre, panic attack, took ½ valium but stayed and watched the rest.
  • 46.  Mentor, I went to the city twice,coffee at Rundle Mall Coffee Shop.
  • 47.  Dishwasher, putting in powder.
  • 48.  Drove to Strathalbum, mentor followed.
  • 49.  Drove to Daws Park Repat Hospital with Rachel for meeting about Dad.
  • 50.  When I go places I don't continually scan, I don't have a high level of anxiety. I can enjoy where I am and what I'm doing.
